Position Summary:
The Financial Specialist is responsible for, but not limited to, maintaining financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger.
The Financial Specialist will be responsible for performing routine accounting tasks. These would include handling accounts payable and receivable, maintaining payroll, recording data in a computerized accounting system, and performing other monthly tasks. The Financial Specialist also supervises periodic audits of the company’s accounts. If an independent auditing firm is hired, the Financial Specialist collaborates with the firm’s representatives and provides the documents needed to complete the audit.
Education, Certification, License, Experience and Skill Requirements:
Education:
· College degree in Accounting or Business Management, required.
Experience:
· Five or more years’ experience in US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), (Preferred, but not required).
· Five or more years' experience using QuickBooks.
· Competent with Experience in Microsoft Office.
· Experience in financial requirements of a non-profit organization (Preferred, but not required).
Certifications
· Must be able to become bonded.
· Must be or be able to become a notary public.

· Maintains cutting edge knowledge of bookkeeping principles.
